Its not when they don't take control of their lives that they do the most damage to society, and this world as a whole, the most evil men do is when they simply don't appreciate what has to be appreciated. Two words; "well done" is all it takes, yet they are so miserly and egoistic.
The most basic needs of the human mind are love, and recognition. What do lovers do? Why are they so happy? They show each other that they matter, their lives matter. When someone tells us how excellent we've been, and how brilliantly we've done it, at that moment, all the fatigue and sleepless nights fade into the oblivion, and all what remains, is the pure exhilarating joy; the joy we feel when someone tells us that we matter. The world is filled with brilliant people, waiting to be challenged, waiting to be appreciated. The good they can do, the change they can bring, is beyond imagination. You are the people, and you can make a difference, because your life matters.

I can much more prefer that about the beyond imagination there are many people waiting for the challenge, as you said but if they had no chances to appreciate so whats another path that can change people's mind and a way to appreciate.
